Thanks to Bitcoin – Crypto
This is opinion editor Mickey Koss, a West Point graduate with an economics degree. He spent four years in the infantry before transferring to the Finance Corps.
At the beginning of the year, I wrote about how FTX saving other companies was not altruistic, but rather good for business. I had no idea how important this was in business. It was their last desperate attempt at self-preservation before they crashed and burned into a full-scale liquidity crisis.
As I sit here and absorb the news about FTX, I can’t help but be thankful for bitcoins, which the cryptocurrency community has condemned as toxic. It’s none other than those toxic maxes like Matt Odell, Marty Bent, and Cory Klippsten who got me off my ass to actually take positive steps to secure my stack and take care of myself.
I think many of us owe a debt of gratitude to people like Ben at BTCSessions, who are undoubtedly teaching tens of thousands of people how to use these once-intimidating tools used to generate private keys and sign transactions.
Without these gentlemen, my wife and I would have lost everything. Many did. But we are doing well because of them. Thanks.
Thanksgiving is for family
As we head into the Thanksgiving holiday, remember the lessons you’ve learned from becoming a seasoned and experienced bitcoiner. First and foremost is low time preference.
There was a recent call for articles with tips on how to give orange pills to friends and family this Thanksgiving. My advice: don’t.
Listen more and talk less. Time is the only thing as scarce as shit. Have fun. Don’t worry about getting people on the life raft. When comments about prices inevitably come up, just smile and nod.
I’m sure you already know what it’s about. They will come to you when they are ready. Until then, just enjoy your quality time and information arbitrage with the rest of the world. Eventually they get caught.
Finally, I would like to announce that the CEO of bitcoin is holding a special Black Friday sale on bitcoin until further notice. Up to 73% off. Use the BTFD code on your local bitcoin-only exchange like Swan, River, or Strike.
Happy stacking and happy thanksgiving.
