A Dutch city recently filed a lawsuit against Twitter, demanding that they take down the conspiracy theories associated with them, which not only harm the city, but also cause an uproar at the local cemetery.
We previously reported on the details of the case here.
As a continuation of this, a Dutch court has now rejected Bodegraven-Reeuwijk’s claims. According to the court, Twitter complied with the removal of illegal content. The court did not order Twitter to delete additional tweets of the fake stories from other accounts, but ordered the company to respond to specific deletion requests.
Twitter says it’s impossible to create a filter that removes all fake horror stories without also removing legitimate content.
